So it begins.

Ok, so I am very firmly resolved to lose some serious weight this semester/year/forever. Ultimately I want to lose 81 pounds. I'm not really doing any particular diet or plan, kind of my own system. My food choices are going to be guided at least a little by the South Beach Diet (the good carb/bad carb rules apply very strongly to my pco). I'm also using some rules from the Bob Greene weight loss plan book thing. Ok, so here are the basic rules I'm gonna use:

1) Eat breakfast
2) Eat sensible snacks-don't let yourself go hungry
3) Don't have anything but water after 9 pm
4) NO EMOTIONAL EATING (this one's going to be hard)
5) Split all dinner portions in half before beginning to eat (when going out)
6) No more than one regular soda a day (for starters, will go completely to diet soda later)
7) Drink at least five bottles of water (or equivalent) a day
8) Go for a 45 minute-one hour walk with the puppy five-six days a week
9) Do the strength training exercises from the Bob Greene book three-four days a week
10) Try and get enough sleep

Weight loss goals.
Goal one: lose ten pounds by January 30. reward-go to a movie
Goal two: lose twenty five pounds by March 6. reward-allow myself to buy one movie of my choice regardless of price
Goal three: lose forty pounds by April 24. reward-go to a movie
Goal four: lose fifty five pounds by June 26. reward-buy a movie
Goal five: lose seventy pounds by August 14. reward-buy tickets to a show i want to see or take a short trip with friends
Final goal: LOSE EIGHTY ONE POUNDS!!!!! reward-buy smokin hot clothes for my new smokin hot body!

The first goal involves losing ten pounds in three weeks. This seems a reasonable jump start to me. The next goal is based on a loss of three pounds a week, and the following goals are based on a two pound a week loss. I think this is a realistic and healthy rate of weight loss, and we'll see how it goes. If I need to adjust it I will.
Starting weight: 281 pounds. End goal: 200 pounds.
